Benchmarking
Information is only really valid when you have something relevant to compare it too. What is big unless you know what is small? How can you determine if something is fast unless you know it’s not slow?
When it comes to understanding your staff, the same principle applies. You can gather as much information about your staff but it would bear no relevance unless there is a comparison point or benchmark against which to compare the results. Performance benchmarking is not a new concept. Any manager worth their weight would have implemented and used Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the performance of their staff. Similarly most executives utilise business benchmarking to ensure they can focus on the growth of their business. Even industry benchmarking has been used for some time to ensure an organisations products and services are up to scratch.
What is relatively new however is psychometric benchmarking. Historically assessments have been the realm of organisational psychologist and recruitment specialists. They have kept the secrets regarding the use assessments to make hiring and development decisions close to their chest. Business leaders have felt that they have no place trying to analyse the behavioural traits, thinking styles and occupational interests of their own staff. Profiles International understands that some organisations prefer to keep recruitment and development processes in house and as such we have developed tools that can easily be used by today’s businesses to quickly and accurately develop benchmarks for roles within their organisation. In this way we enable our clients with information specific to their organisation which can then be used in a variety of ways. From developing position descriptions to enhancing a recruitment or staff development process, Profiles International puts you in the driver’s seat and enables you to take control of the information you need to improve the performance of your business and to better understand your staff.
